About The University of Florida Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (UF CARD)

The University of Florida Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (UF CARD) is a regional resource center funded by the Florida Legislature through the Florida Department of Education. In accordance with Section 1004.55, Florida Statutes (F.S.), and Rule 6A-7.0335, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.), the mission of UF CARD is to provide nonresidential resource and training services for persons of all ages and levels of intellectual functioning with a documented diagnosis of autism, a pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified, an autistic-like disability, a dual sensory impairment, or a sensory impairment with other disabling conditions. This includes services for their families and providers.  UF CARD primarily provides services within its 14-county region in North Central Florida, but also collaborates with other Centers and state agencies/projects on regional programs and statewide initiatives. UF CARD in Gainesville Florida is a program of the UF College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry.
